The Louisiana Area Association for the Education of Young Children (LAEYC) is a state affiliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), a national organization comprised of early care and education professionals.  Our mission is to promote and support high quality care and education for young children through improved professional practice and broadened public awareness.  A nonprofit, volunteer organization, LAEYC is governed by a volunteer board comprised of appointed and elected members.

LAEYC Concentrates its efforts on four major areas:

• Program: Plans a broad range of educational opportunities for early care and educational professionals
• Outreach: Targets public policy, advocacy and community outreach
• Membership: Focuses on member recruitment and services
• Organizational Support: Manages the finance and staff of the organization
